A signature is required for all freight deliveries. Prior to signing and accepting any freight, please insure it has been carefully inspected for any damage. The consignee or a delegated representative must be present to receive any item(s) at the time of delivery.

Freight shipping delays have become increasingly common in 2024. Please note that freight is considered delayed when it arrives after the planned delivery date. RECOMMENDED DELIVERY AND UNLOADING TIPS & TRICKS

Picking up your new 4 Post Lift, 2 Post Lift and/or Wheel Equipment from one of our warehouses, a shipping terminal or accepting delivery of your new lift at your shop or a home garage can be a daunting thought, but don’t worry, with a few tips and tricks we can help you make this experience much easier and less stressful. We just need to plan your pickup and/or delivery ahead.

Having access to a forklift to load or unload your lift to an open bed utility trailer, flatbed trailer or an enclosed cargo trailer (not our first choice) is the safest and most suitable way to handle the lifts.

However, not always do you have access to a forklift or a skid steer to load and unload, but there are several other options to assist with this process.

If you’ve decided to have your lift delivered to your shop or home, the freight company has access to power tailgate trucks, flatbed picker trucks, winch trucks and various utility trailers. But note that the average tailgates are not a lift option as most tailgates on trucks have a capacity of about 1,000lb., which is enough to unload Tire Changers, Wheel Balancers, but will not handle the dimensional size and weight of lifts. A game plan with your delivery company is a must and if you don’t have access to a trailer, then the delivery option may be the easiest solution, even if some additional charges apply.

However, if you choose to pick up your lift at the shipping terminal, make sure that you have an adequate open utility trailer to ensure easy loading as most terminals have staff that can load your open-bed trailers without any issues.

Please note that enclosed cargo trailers can be a complicated loading task for a forklift operator that is unfamiliar with handling lifts while in their oversized 14’ – 18’ long packaged state. The open “Beaver Tail” cargo doors can pose a challenge as most doors can’t sustain the weight of the forklift. You may have to be creative with your loading/unloading efforts.

SHIPPING & UNLOADING FAQ's

Freight and delivery companies have access to flatbed picker trucks, winch trucks and various utility trailers. Note that the average tailgates are not a lift option as most tailgates on trucks have a capacity of about 1,000lb., which is enough to unload Tire Changers, Wheel Balancers, but will not handle the dimensional size and weight of lifts.

Having access to a forklift is the easiest solution for any unloading but this is not always an option, therefore a game plan with your delivery company is a must.

Canadian Auto Equipment.ca ships equipment across Canada every day and has relationships with many freight carriers and therefore can offer you extremely competitive freight rates and pass these saving to you, our valued customer.

The freight carrier will typically contact you 12-24 hours in advance of the upcoming delivery. Should something change in your schedule, it is your responsibility to communicate with the carrier to ensure that a clear delivery plan is in place, failure to do so may result in additional charges such as re-delivery charges and/or additional handling charges. It is very important to communicate and ask questions of the freight carrier at this time and to ensure timely delivery.

While we do everything possible to ensure safe and timely delivery to your destination. Freight carriers can be unpredictable with their delivery times and we cannot guarantee the exact delivery time and date as there are many factors that are outside of our control that could result in delayed deliveries and are not the responsibility of Canadian Auto Equipment.ca.

Do you have any questions about the DELIVERY process?

The best way to reach us is by email customercare@canadianautoequipment.ca and one of our Customer Care team members will be glad to answer your questions within 24 hours.

Most of our truck shipments will be delivered via commercial freight carriers operating highway tractor-trailers. Many of our commercial carriers have smaller re-delivery trucks, but not always do they use them for deliveries of large items.

Canadian Auto Equipment.ca cannot guarantee the size of truck and trailer that will be used for your delivery, regardless of the equipment that you ordered. However, you should assume that your product may be delivered on a highway tractor with a 53’ enclosed trailer.

It is the customer’s responsibility to unload the equipment off the trailer in a very timely manner as you could be subject to additional charges if you delay the freight carrier.

You also cannot disassemble or unpack the equipment from the original packaging to assist you with the unload. The freight carrier is on the clock and expects timely unloading, a delay would result in additional charges for the delay and/or a re-delivery would need to be scheduled as they would take the equipment back to the freight terminal/depot and re-schedule a delivery with you, this again would result in additional charges.

Having access to a forklift to unload your lift is the safest and best scenario, but if you don’t have access to a forklift, you are responsible for another method of safe unloading. The freight company has access to power tailgate trucks, flatbed picker trucks, winch trucks and various utility trailers. But note that the average tailgates are not a lift option as most tailgates on trucks have a capacity of about 1,000lb., which is enough to unload Tire Changers, Wheel Balancers, but will not handle the dimensional size and weight of lifts. A game plan with your delivery company is a must otherwise you risk incurring additional charges for delayed unloading.
